Sustainability concept for tourism in Luxembourg
In December 2024, the Directorate-General for Tourism presented the sustainability concept for tourism in Luxembourg. This concept offers a strategic framework for sustainable tourism in the country and is aimed at decision-makers and tourism stakeholders. It supports the targeted implementation of the "Sustainable location quality for all" field of action from the national tourism strategy.
Through a tourism-specific understanding of sustainability, the four dimensions of ecology, social issues, culture and economy are established in terms of content, creating the basis for integrated and continuous sustainability action. At the same time, the formulation of three central implementation areas - sustainability management, the sustainable “Tourism for All” offer and sustainability communication - creates a concept that promotes the continuous implementation of ideas and ultimately aims to further increase the experience factor for guests.
